Ami Jackson, Junction

€600.00

Concrete, oil and spray paint on bread board
69x84cm

“I like being in cars but I can’t drive. The best conversations happen in cars. It’s the not having to make eye contact but still sitting in close proximity, facing the same direction. And the option of listening to music meaning you don’t have to talk constantly to the people you’re with. And mainly the feeling of being on the move, going forward with everything you need for the journey. I wonder if I’d like driving, or if I just like being driven. Because I like the bus, train, boat, luas and planes. I think I just I just like transport in general. It’s a good time.”

Ami Jackson is a Japanese/Irish artist, based in Dublin. She recently received her honours degree in Fine Art Print from the National College of Art and Design and is the recipient of the Black Church Cabinet Award, 2020 and a member of the Graphic Studio Dublin.
