“My interest in cars has been since early youth, the idea of freedom in some ways. A vintage Porsche (912 especially) was the bare bones of something that worked in a design sense and purpose. But as time goes on I realise that it is in fact, a presence of hard won advertising to me since I was a child. The German industrial machine presenting me; class, speed and escapism. 'Room with a view' was a work that I've wanted to tackle for many years, to pull apart the use of that machine to what it is, a very well designed small metal room, with a view of your choosing. I still do not have a Porsche 912.”
